Officers from Tai Calon Community Housing have also been helping tenants affected by the gas cuts
Gas engineers are calling
door-to-door at hundreds of homes in Blaenau Gwent to restore supplies
cut by a water leak which flooded gas pipes on Thursday.
A main which burst in Nantyglo was repaired that day but more than 150,000 litres of water needed pumping out.At 09:00 BST on Monday, Wales and West Utilities said gas had started to be restored to about 660 of the 750 properties affected.
The company said it was working round the clock on a "complex operation".
It said it was continuing to remove water from where it had gathered at low points in the network to ensure all gas supplies would be restored as it began to reconnect most of the homes affected.
A spokesperson said: "Our engineers will be going door to door on these streets, and we are asking people to please give them access to their gas meters to turn their gas supply back on."
Leisure centres in Abertillery and Ebbw Vale have been offering washing and showering facilities, but Abertillery's centre will be shut on Monday.
About 150 fan heaters and hot plates have been given out to vulnerable customers.
Tai Calon Community Housing has also distributed heaters and microwave ovens for affected tenants to use.
Wales and West Utilities said that all the properties affected were residential.
